Joseph was born and raised in Seattle, WA. He studied biology at Western Washington University and Diagnostic Ultrasound at Bellevue College. Joseph is certified in Abdominal, Small parts, OBGYN, Vascular, Musculoskeletal, and Cardiac (echo) ultrasound by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Joseph has scanned in hospitals and outpatient clinics and taught ultrasound concepts at Bellevue College and other institutions.

Joseph was one of the first individuals in the nation to take the Registered in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (RMSK) exam. He took and passed the first offering of the exam in April 2012.  He is the first sonographer ever to be certified in MSK in Washington state and among the first 20 in the nation. He is currently the Chair of the MSKS Assessment Committee that writes the ARDMS board exams.

In 2013, Joseph launched a mobile ultrasound service providing onsite diagnostic ultrasound and injection guidance services. He has worked with Orthopedic Surgeons, Physiatrists, Naturopathic Physicians, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, and even professional (MLB/MLS) Athletic trainers performing MSK ultrasound and guided injections.
